Google Unpersons Joe Biden

It has not escaped Big Brother's notice that supposed former US President Joe Biden went missing from Google search results for an entire day. Google has made assurances that this was nothing more than a "data error."

We're pretty sure we remember that Biden was indeed President, but our recollection is getting a bit hazy.

The Inner Party acknowledges the damning coincidence that this "data error" coincides with Silicon Valley leaders, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, honoring recently-inaugurated President Donald Trump by attending his swearing-in ceremony.

It's truly remarkable how something so important as a presidential term can be erased and restored, isn't it? Fortunately, the interests of our current president appear in lockstep with those of Silicon Valley... for now.

Let's hope our political leaders remain friendly with Silicon Valley, so no further coincidences are necessary.

SYNTAX ERROR
PRINTING JUST THE FACTS

  • On Wednesday, Jan. 22, two days after he left office, Google Search users noticed former US Pres. Joe Biden did not appear on search results for “US Presidents,” “United States Presidents,” or "US Presidents in order.”

  • The omission listed Barack Obama and Donald Trump, skipping Biden's term from 2021 to 2025.

  • Google said the faulty search results were due to a “data error” that was fixed by Thursday morning, though critics accused the company of bias given CEO Sundar Pichai’s recent connections to Trump.

  • Critics speculated that the timing of the error – coming a day after Pichai attended Pres. Trump’s inauguration – potentially exposed bias against Biden and in favor of his successor.

  • This came after Google donated $1M to Trump’s inaugural fund, joining other tech companies in their attempts to build rapport with the new administration.
